My first RTF 305 blog post!

Hey everyone! My name is Will Quade and I am an RTF major here. I have taken this class because of the requirement, but mainly because I want to be more technologically savvy (I love that word!) and doing all this multi media stuff will really help. I also wish to understand the fundamentals of filmmaking and narrative. I hope to one day become a movie critic, or a movie producer, or a film historian, so understanding these concepts would be of much help. One blog I like to follow (but it's been down recently) is www.awardscircuit.blogspot.com. It is a great place to catch up on the latest Oscar buzz this year.
Anyway, at the bottom is a link to the ending montage of Terrence Malick's 2005 film The New World. This film (along with all of Malick's others) really changed how I looked at movies, and also changed how I viewed the world and my place in it. To me, this was the ultimate "theater going experience" that made me want to pursue a life in film. An an awesome pursuit it is!
